Default Any thoughts on this...... if not its all good

So some might remember I bought a 99 VDP at auction a few months back that I had seen run and drive (fine), didnt win then bought it the next week but it wasnt running this time as they said the battery was dead and couldn't get it to jump.

Anyway, I have done pretty much everything needed to get it to start including plugs, fuel pump and oiling the cylinders. It will crank and ALMOST catch, actually almost sounds like its running it wants to start so bad but......

Bank 2, #4 cylinder has no compression. All the others are fine and even with one bad one the car should still fire and run even if not on all cylinders. I have recently decided to let a mobile mechanic I know take a shot at it. He pulled the cover yesterday and noticed the lifter on that #4 is not coming up all the way as it should while manually cranking the engine.

So boys and ladies, LOL, any thoughts ? I bought the car cheap enough to part it although it is in very good shape and only has 100K on it and the tensioners have been replaced.

No water in the oil..cranks and gets fuel... so..... what now I ask ?

Sounds like a bent valve. Sure the tensioners were replaced ?

my suggestion,
Cause
...waterpump is the original, impellers have gone, no coolant movement.
Effect
...an overheat event, valve seat dropped, pinned valve.
Fix
...replace head.

The aluminum engine does not like to overheat and the valve seats can be affected
