Question Anyone do performance upgrades to the engine?

Just curious, has anyone tried to upgrade performance of their engine in any way?

(And swapping to a K&N air filter does not count, it upgrades performance as much as a stick-on hood scoop, lol.)

Yep those K&N's are a waste of money, is your VDP supercharged or N/A?
If its a supercharged than try those s/c pulleys.

I run a K&N filter insert. I'm running a large lower pulley and small upper pulley with remapped ECU, I'm not going to try and suck air through the stock paper filter if I can help it. Also up rated to a higher GPM flow pump (Merc vice hella) on the intercooler recirc to help increase flow and help with heat soak on the aircharge coolers.

There's not a whole lot you can do, especially on the NA. You're limited to smoothing out the intake, free-er flowing filter (all the little gains add up to something eventually), and trying to free up exhaust too, however that's going to be trial and error to find a balance that gains and not just changes the sound. These aren't engines that you can just swap heads and a cam, or bore .030 over and away you go like a small block Chevy. You might be able to experiment with an underdrive crank pulley like the SC uses, and find a belt, that might help a little? Other than that though, your only other advice to make the car faster, is what was said. Losing weight where you can. But then you also lose comfort (as in , changing for lighter seats, losing sound deadening, etc). So it all comes down to what you're aiming for. But for an NA car, there's not much in the way of engine upgrades that will gain you much at all. I haven't looked, but I'd say you're going to be really fighting to gain I dunno, 20-30 hp or so with everything combined?

Biggest and cheapest is sell NA and buy SC car. Anything else will cost $$$ and achieve roughly nil.
