I'm looking for (lack of a better term) the center piece to the overhead console but in wood - I want to change it to wood from the stock cream plastic piece. Let me know if anyone has one for sale

Keep an eye on Ebay, set the search function to notify you by email when one is listed, they come up for sale quite often for $50 or so. You just have to be patient.

Right now they seem a bit scarce, but I have seen five or more for sale in the 'bay for $50-90,

When I was trading in my 95 VDP (x300) for the 98 (x308) -- I remember looking and thinking I could switch out the wood before I did the trade ... I never did .... but they must be the same.

I guess only in the VDP's have the wood insert -

 

They are the same for the XJ8/R, I swapped mine out with no problem.

If anyone wants a "plain" one covered with fabric, I now have a spare.

No V8 in 1995 -- XJ6. Also VDP was same body. The LWB with the raised roof came out the next year.

 

MCM97- Looks like Ebay has one for $75.00..the whole unit. Interesting to me also, you have first dibs my friend. I'll wait for the next one.

It's easy to find a reasonable one on ebay. You can swap the wood onto your stock one if you want, then you can save by getting one with messed up lights or something.
