Default Anyone know if Transgo are still in business?

Hi guys, long time no chat. I am refitting an engine change with gearbox, and thought it the ideal opportunity to fit the Transgo ZF5HP-24 Pressure Regulator Repair Kit, having read lots of good reports.

The problem is, I never get a reply to emails sent (5 emails now) asking the cost + shipping to the UK. I wondered if they were still 'around' so to spea, but the website is up and running!

It seems a shame not to fit it, although I know it can be done with the box in situ, however, situ or not I still need to get in touch to get one. My first two emails included pictures of the bottom of my gearbox with the lower pan off, I am 95% certain I have the box that the Transgo part can be fitted to.

Can anyone offer suggestions of how I progress this?
Paul

Paul, I have no idea if they are still in operation, but the sets itself can still be found on eBay.
Need to give it a thorough check though for compatibility.

I’m going to have one installed this week by a local transmission shop (not AAMCO) that we’ve been dealing with for years.

Here’s a link for the US EBay which I’m sure you can buy from.

Thank you to addicted2boost for the link, and great to hear from you again Eric . I've been away a long time, but the magic and knowledge of the people on this site has never changed.. still first class.

I have ordered the part direct from the US. I have done as much research into this as I can from here, and I am certain it fits my gearbox, if it doesn't Im sure it will be useful to someone else.

I will email you Eric, as there's some work on the 308 Electrical Guide I've been doing while spending week after week in hospital. Basically, I have built a database for it, I think it will be very useful? Would like to run it past a few of you guys to see what you think, just a few bugs to sort out then it's ready for a trial run.

Thanks to all who helped here, my new Pressure Regulator arrived this morning. Now all I need to know is any 'special' things to watch out for / fitting suggestions to make things easier?

Thanks again
Paul

If you’re going to fit the valve yourself, make sure you put the valve in the freezer the night before so it’ll shrink enough to easily slide it in the valve body the next day.

Hi Addicted2boost, many thanks for the suggestion.. makes perfect sense. Any idea(s) how long this takes or any other pitfalls? I had a really bad experience many years ago removing something from a gearbox and all kinds of springs, ball-bearings etc flew everywhere?

I didn’t install it. I just gave it to the local transmission guy whose been doing them for 45 years. I just can’t even come close to that kind of experience.

Nothing to it. Just do it. Search this forum (or google) - there is a writeup with pictures out there. When I installed - I did it without freezing anything, worked ok.
Filling transmission with oil after is a bit of a pain, but again - it's been done by many.
