I found this but it's for XJ8. Is the shifter assembly the same?

The coverage in the electrical diagrams is for all models. Different models will have different pages in each of the sections if there are differences, otherwise one page will cover all variants. For example, sections on external lighting will have only one version, engine management has multiple versions.

Well guys here's what I learned today.
Today I picked up an EGS52 and a Shifter Assembly from an 2006 Chrysler 300C 5.7 from a local boneyard.
My goal here is to figure out a way to sequentially shift our trans and hopefully upgrade to the EGS52 which I think I figured out how to manipulate.
So looking at the diagrams it appears as the EGS51 is directly wired to the shifter assembly(Dual Linear Switch) where the EGS52 is connected to the Shifter(Module Electronic Shift) by the CAN bus.
Also what is interesting is the fact that our gear illumination (the lighted letters on the J-gate) also run off the CAN as a listen only node which basically sniffs the CAN for the data from the EGS to display the correct gear. hmmm

No, the XJ8 has the 5HP and the XJR has the Mercedes box, the shifter is different. I thought it was weird you had trouble finding a pinout.......Damn, I did too!
Here is something cobbled together that should give you what you need to figger it out.
Good luck!

I guess Jaguar was too new to CAN electronics in 1998.

I'm still not sure how but I was trying to wire up the chryslers shifter thought the OBDII port to see if it would talk over can to the EGS52. I wasn't getting anywhere so I swapped back to the EGS51. That's when I realized that I wired the positive and negative wrong. So, whatever I did was sending 12V to both can lines.
So as soon as I realized that I disconnected everything. Started the car and was getting "Transmission Fault" and "Hi Trans Temperature". I checked the codes and P0715(Input turbine speed sensor A Circuit) and P0748(Pressure Control Solenoid A Electrical) popped out. I almost had a heart attack that I doomed the car forever.
After 15 minutes of clearing codes the car somehow returned to normal and codes stopped coming back. It got me to think thou, if the autostick 722.6 cars have a different valvebody? go figure.
