Anyone seen a xj8 with a 2jz?

Well that's an interesting 1st post on a forum...
I've moved your thread from the X350 section to the X308 section, since your profile says you have a '98 XJ8, that's an X308.
Have not seen an X308 with a 2JZ myself. Engine swaps on these models tend to be limited to the LSx since that's the only off-the-shelf kit available.

The 2JZ is an inline 6 cylinder engine found in Toyota Supra, some Lexus models and various Japan domestic market models in the 1990s making around 220-230hp stock. The big dog is the 2JZ-GTE, factory twin-turbo at 320hp in stock form. Its popular with tuners as its a bullet-proof lump that can be modded to make unbelievable horsepower. I've been present to watch dyno runs in excess of 1,000hp. Its so popular that its turning up in all sorts of vintage Japanese cars and even some domestic cars that originally came with straight sixes.

Yesss exactly why I want to put it in a xj8, but was wondering if anyone has done it before ????

Unless you're looking to do it for just the sake of doing something different (and I haven't seen one yet, I imagine if there WERE one, it's be the top hit on a google search at this point), why not just do an LSx swap? Been done before, less technical hurdles I'm sure, and can still make gobs of power.
Also will depend on what you're looking to end up with. For example, here, I have to worry about passing inspections with computer hookups, so all that has to be figured into the equation. If you're somewhere that doesn't have those requirements, then making it physically fit will be the biggest hurdle. Not that it won't fit in the bay, but fashioning mounts, accessory drive, plumbing, etc.

So Lucky_Bhamra, how much power are you looking to get from the 2JZ? And how much are you going to spend on the engine?
Reason I ask is that you can you can buy an LSA crate engine for $11K, 580hp out of the box (430rwhp with an auto) and with a few tweaks they come up to 530rwhp.
And by rwhp I mean REAL WHEEL HP measured on Aussie dyno's not the overinflated North American ones.
Go with a kit from jaguarspecialties for interfacing the ECU, you can have an XJ8 Jag with 530rhwp for about $20K

Probably better off starting with a 6 cyl X300, rather than an X308. But the real key will be which gearbox do you want to use?
The engine and gearbox computers are a lot more complicated on X308s than X300s, so it would probably be a lot easier getting everything to behave. Manual conversions aren't uncommon either.
