Anyone try Headlight Restore Wipes or similar products on an x308?

On my prior vehicles I've just compounded down the headlight plastic to polish them to like new, these "miracle" products claim to have the same results in a few minutes appear to good to be true - has anyone tried them on an x308?
My fear is their chemical-reaction ends up damaging or discoloring the lenses...

Hey vdpnyc - I have tried these 'kits' before and worked pretty good on plastic lenses (wife and mother in law's Nissan cars). Now, on the Xj8, well unless mistaking the lens are glass (but correct me if I'm wrong). Mine are 'pitted' and was hoping it would do miracles... which it didn't. Basically did nothing, really. For what it's worth.

How do you access the inside of the glass? I've changed bulbs without ever removing the glass fixtures

Use a long screw driver or trim removal tool to get some leverage, and be sure you squirt some WD40 or the likes the night before.
Doing it after a ride (with the plastics warm) might help as well.

Each unit can be popped out forwards, no need to remove trimming, just be careful.

I can not guarantee, but if you lube them beforehand, and take it careful as you should be, you should be alright.
I took them off twice already.
Don't blame me though

I've often thought the headlight lens glass must be relatively soft though, as most are terribly "sand blasted" on used X300 and X308 lenses as compared to say the windscreen and the other front plastic lenses.
I'm fitting some new X308 lenses to my X300 and before I do I'll put some lens protector plastic over them.
