Armrest / Stowaway Problem - Need Help
Hi I was wondering if someone could help me out. I installed a new cup holder in my 2000 XJ8 but overlooked that the release button for the armrest / stowaway latch had to be reconnected under the cup holder. So when I closed the armrest the latch was not connected to the release button and now I cannot open the stowaway. The button works but that makes no difference as it is not engaged with the mechanism that pushes the latch in the direction needed to release the top of the arm rest. If you have a digital camera can you take a picture of the latch and the female counterpart on the arm rest? That will give me some guidance on how to open it. Also, it would be great if you could let me know which way I have to push the latch to get it to disengage from the other part. I am going to slide a ruler between the top and then push which ever way releases the top and keep my figures crossed. Thanks, Andrew

RE: Armrest / Stowaway Problem - Need Help
I was thinking of fitting the cup holder soon. Glad you brought this to my attention! Where did you get the cup holder - online?
If you think me taking a picture of the original compartment and lock would be of any use let me know (just got a 2000 xj8).
