wierd thing i replaced the slcm unit on my 99 xj8 vp. and and now my radio is acting up. if i let it sit for an hour or so and turn the key on it comes on.but as soon as i open a door or go to turn in up or push any buttons it cuts off like theirs no power.the pwr ant.even goes down.and will not come back on till i let it sit for like an hour.then it comes on again when i turn the key on or start it.also my traction control light does come on when i push it or the seat heater.its like the one panel goes dead briefly.then after i let it sit for an hour or so it works till something is touched.or used.it does have the cd changer in the trunk and is getting pwr just fine.just the radio dies. i checked all the fuses and their all good.is their a relay somewhere that might not be getting enough juice or just getting hot fast and kicking off? i cant figure it out for anything..no codes or anything.and all the wires are ok..any advise would be welcome........ audio issue fixed:::it was a realy under the driver back seat shutting down ...

 

New or used SLCM replacement?

 

used but working fine..according to the dealership and all the diagrams the radio i have is not connected to anything in the slcm unit.it runs on a diffrent moduel all togher.so im guessing its a relay getting to hot to fast or a bad ground.cauz it works when you let it set for a while and after you let it stay on for a bit then it just cuts off all togher and the pwr ant.goes down.but the cd changer still has pwr..so it has to be something simple...just have to track it down..
