Battery charging light has come on, but battery is being charged ok...
Tested battery voltage with ignition on, engine not running 12.4v
Tested battery voltage with ignition on, engine running 13.4v
Tested battery input current with ignition on, headlights on, engine not running -3.4A
Tested battery input current with ignition on, headlights on, engine running +13.2A
Anyone any idea why the light is on as the alternators seems to be charging the battery ok?

" 13.4v is low, it should be a 14.something volts while engine is running. "
Correct if tested at the large B + alternator post , there are testing point losses in compromised battery cable connections and electrical load voltage drops because of this at those other points
Check that the alternator heavy battery cable nuts tight , some have been found way loose but brass so don't over torque
Can get by in changing the voltage regulator inside the alternator of a certain part # INxxx
IN435 in for the inline 6 engine 95 - 97
Probably also a Denso 120 amp alternator
E - Bay vendors iffy from experience , can test at the auto parts store on their alternator spin up machine before purchasing parts and also before final installion on engine , also a on car alternator test as they test the alternator large B + post

If it’s 14.4 volts at the alternator and if it’s 13.3 volts at the battery, then you have a connection problem. High resistance, dirty, burnt connection. When I get a little bit of time, I have an important topic (with pix) related to this.
