Battery Dies After Radio Failure
I sold my 2000 XJ8 to a friend and she tells me about four months ago the radio stopped working. Since then the battery will die if the car sits for a couple of weeks.
Battery checks out and alternator is less than a year old
Any idea what might be the cause?
Thanks
Eric

What kind of used car dealer are you? Selling to some poor innocent girl.....lol j/k.
Unless you pull out the radio to check it, you won't know.
If she lets it sit for more than a couple weeks, these cars are very susceptible to sometimes the slightest power drop. Use a Battery Tender (or the like) when leaving the car sit for more than 2 weeks. It will chase away many ghosts associated with a low battery and the tender will keep the battery fresh. My battery is around 7 yrs old and just had it checked and it came back spot on and I use a Battery Tender a lot because I travel for work.
I still have my radio from my 2000 if your interested? I have the amp and CD changer also....mine was the premium.
