I have a 1998 XJ8 Vanden Plas. This past weekend I used my car charger to charge my cell without turning the engine on totally just the key forward. I estimate I did it for a total of an hour and half. When I turned my car back on it said battery not charging on my dashboard warning. The car started and ran normal but the warninglight stayed on then went off and then came back on. Then I unhooked the terminals from my battery to try and reset the computer and now my car wont start. What could be my problem??

You MIGHT just have overvoltaged a module. Some battery chargers are prone to do that on high settings if you have a low load battery situation like an open cell. Turning the key to on WAS NOT a good strategy. On the other hand, with luck, you have just not tightened the clamps good. If they are tight, I would try unhooking the battery again, then retry.
BTW, why were you charging the battery anyway? You might just have a dead battery.

Does anything else in the car work or is it totally dead?
Without more details a wild guess is...
If everything but the starter works, my first guess is an open circuit in the main positive cable or a bad ground strap somewhere between the battery and engine block. The reason I say that is the not charging message coming and going might have been an indication of a failing circuit.
