hi guys I hope u all do good . I have a problem but I'm really confused okay so few days ago my car breather hose was broken due to heat and age I replaced it just yesterday with 3/8 and 1/5 hoses but I didn't realize those hoses are too soft and doesn't hold heat so when I opened the hood it was sticking to each other and the engine couldn't suck air through the hoses or it was tiny amount only that goes through the hoses . any way I turned on the car today I heard like rod knock for few seconds then I removed the hoses the knock became less then it was gone like can't hear it unless I open the hood and rev up the engine. so could this problem did damaged my engine?

That hose assy is for the air assisted fuel injection system.

 

hi Bob . can u please explain is that mean I'm hearing injectors clicks ?! if that hose blocked what it could damage?

now I removed all the hoses so no hose there I will get new one from dealer or from scrap .

The air assisted injectors use an air 'shroud' to help the with injector fuel pattern.

If the hose fails you simply have a leak in the intake and 'false-air' that the MAFS is not metering.
