I am taking it to my mechanic next week . You are right about it looking like new . The main difference is the underside. British Jags always have a bloom of rust everywhere this is totally pristine.
I was always of the opinion that the best car to buy was one without rust as new engines are way easier to fit than doing bodywork repairs. This engine is so 'tight' and smooth but am scared that all the gaskets will need replacing which would be a mammoth job ! I will take a look at the easier parts in the morning and many thanks for the advice

And here she is in a rather nice solid British racing green with no coach line , which is strange but actually quite nice.
