Body processor module removal

To any member who has ever removed the Body Processor Module on the X308: I need to pull out the BPM in order to look up the part number in order to buy the right unit. On my 2002 XJR there is a steel plate in front of the BPM to which the BPM is bolted to. Once the 3 nuts are removed from the studs that plate still remains in its position and in the way for the BPM to be pulled out. To me, it doesn't look like this plate is going to come off very easy at all. Can the BPM be, somehow, slid out from behind this plate either in the down or right direction, and does the connector need to be pulled out first; actually, will the connector come out before pulling the unit out from behind the steel plate?
Any help with this will be much appreciated.

Removing the BPM will NOT give you the VCATS suffix. That info can be found on the label with the list of programmable modules in the vehicle.
The VCATS label is in the boot near the spare wheel.
The BPM will NOT have the 3 digit suffix printed on the module itself. You can use PDU or WDS/IDS to interrogate the module for the software version (3 digit suffix)

I replaced mine a number of years ago, but don't you just remove the three screws that hold the BPM in place, and slide it out from behind the mounting plate? Pretty sure it was an easy process as I recall.
More to the point, motorcarman is right. You not only need the part number, but the correct VCATS suffix. Both of those pieces of information can be found on the VCATS label in the spare tire well. There's a white label on the wall to the left of the spare tire. The VCATS suffix will not be on the BPM anyway, so just find the label. Take a picture of it and keep it handy. You may need it down the road.

I do not see any VCAS label in the trunk, even with the spare removed. Did Jaguar still place the VCAS label in the trunk for the 2002 XJR MY? Or, anywhere else? Or no labels anymore for 2002, although, isn't US 2002 equivalent to an England 2003 MY. Finally, somebody mentioned that for 2003 there were no more VCAS labels, but, then, can I still replace the BPM without the info from the VCAS label? Sorry for so many questions.
