Book time: Valley Heater Hoses?
My 02 "R" bought new just hit 75K .... Hate to muck around with an untouched car. But, maybe time to think about Valley Hoses. Comments state dealers want $1700 to replace. The early TSB lists the job as 3-4 hours ... now I get that it's manufacturer paying dealer .... but how do we get to $1700?
Not sure this is a job for my local independent. He is a great mechanic -- but, few Jaguars. He did do my fuel pumps. There is a Jaguar majority shop in the area -- have not used because my cars have never needed anything major. May stop and ask.
Some say do the breather hose --- looks like the hoses (two) around the TB would be wise. New coolant and Tstat -- refresh the SC oil when out on the bench.
Recheck the tensioners.

yeltdog,
Not sure how much this helps but I did a walk-thru of when I did the manifold hoses on my NA. Obviously you have to add the time to remove and replace the supercharger on your R (and I'm not sure what other minor differences there are on an R) but it isn't a difficult job, just a bit fiddly, and as I stated in my walk thru those Jaguar-type plastic fasteners can be frustrating and sometimes time consuming.
As with all such things, once you have done one, you can do it much quicker a second time, I was slow and careful and I don't remember it being a particularly long job but would think 3-4 hours would be fair. (add SC removal/replace for an R)

Warranty time with diagnostics would be about 4 hours for the SuperCharged engine.
A REAL WORLD time would be more like 6 hours (warranty times time and a half)
I would add time to that some time for age and corrosion plus the SC oil change.
Lets say 7 hours +.
At $150/hr that would be over $1000 labor plus a few hundred for parts (hoses, thermostat, SC oil change + whatever else you want while there).
They will charge whatever they can get and whatever you will pay.
