Default Bought a salvage 2001 XJR

It's a run and drive with 105,000 miles. Bought with plans to sell engine, tranny, cats and other parts except the wheels, windshield and interior. Once delivered and see in person may consider fixing up and titling.

I love that Quartz color and the seats looks good. Depending on what you find in the drivetrain,
it looks like one that could easily be restored to full operational and presentable condition.

inspect it and post what you find

Same color combination as my ‘03 VDP. The interior kinda bugged me at first, but now I love it. Enjoy the new toy. Hope it turns into a good restorable one for you.

Nice color combo and seems to be in good shape. I'd fix that up and get it on the road. Nice car!

Fix it up if all possible. These cars are becoming harder to find. Do your part and save one that might be able to be saved

It was listed as frame damage on CoPart. Below is part of the CarFax I ran before I bought. I’m not seeing any from the pics. Obviously no under car photos, but wheels look at the right place in the wheel wells. No damage on rear although CarFax says rear end collision and frame damage.

It had a service shortly before totaled and listed as a “run and drive” on CoPart so though it’s a gamble, pretty confident that engine and tranny good. With prices on eBay for the engine and tranny and recycling the cats for $1100, I’d be $1000 ahead of what I paid and have the wheels and interior for my LS swap project.

That said, if all that needs fixing is the bonnet/front end damage, I think I’ll save her.

The fact that "frame damage" was listed does not mean it actually occurred. In my experience with several
insurance adjusters, I have found that "totaled" is a more preferable position for the insurance company.
The car bears this scar on the paperwork sometimes without the supporting damage. In order to reach the
cost damage required the "totaled" assessment, an agent might speculate frame damage even in the absence
of any kind of proof, The owner will usually just accept the verdict looking for a speedy resolution.

How you are controlling engine, transmission and compressor? And do you deal with the warning lights or do you leave them be?
