Brake booster bushing removal/installation

You mean master cylinder or booster?
If it is the master cylinder you don't want to use the usual drill and slide hammer
because of debris.
I would use a very sharp punch, tap into the side of the inside bore and lever it out.
Or screw a suitably large bolt into the recess - but not so large and tight as to expand
the plug too much - then pull with visegrips.

Brass bushing removal
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm finishing this procedure in morning....I am simply leaving the brass insert in place and scavenging the new O-ring and inserting it into the old brass case base. Then taking the new plastic collar and doing the same.
There is no reason for any wear in the bushing and the only failure can be the O ring (or plastic line cracking). My O-ring was brittle and pulled out in pieces, along with the Chinese finger torture insert.

The brass fitting can be tapped out from the inside. A bit tricky getting to it but it does not take much force. That brass and O-ring fitting is pure junk and they will all leak because the O-ring gets cooked from engine heat and turns hard as a rock. Then you get a vacuum leak!
BUT I would recommend doing a permanent fix for much less money. Here is the repair I did on my STR after I got the suggestion from a fellow XKR owner. Cost was $6!
