Hey Bob, thanks for the remote info. Is the freq number on the box somewhere? I see the FIC number on both boxes are the same. There is another number to the right of it, I'll see if it matches the numbers on the actual remote.

OK, as you say, you did not seem like an electronics guy, so I assumed you wanted the quickest way to repair. A HSSS is a High side solid state switch. The exact replacement is not normally available, but some research by an electronics guy will yield a replacement. If you do not know how to repair surface mount boards already, you should eithe rfind someone who has expereince or find the module on fleabay.

Robert: the freq is written on the box, I am reading 315 MHz. 98 box will be different. Send the 03 box to Idaho ($200) or install the 98 box if you have the 98's remote FOBs and see if they program to the 03 car (use your video).

I believe BOTH early and late SLCMs are 315mhz but use different protocols or digital encryption so the keyfob transmitters are not cross compatible.

You are probably right; but when I was looking for a replacement for mine, the earlier models had a dif freq. But I was searching for a specific box, LNG2600Hb/008 and the units may have been for different cars.

Geez, I am buying a lot of parts on eBay lately!

Replaced the SLCM and all is well. Going to order a remote compatible to the '98 box that is currently installed. My brother says that he is going to have the other box shipped out and repaired for a spare.

I think, but if he does that, he can probably live without a remote until the repaired SLCM gets back then just reprogram the old remotes.
