brake pad residue
#2
Do a search, there have been many posts about this topics. Different pad compounds will have different dust factors. The factory pads (jurid) being one of the worst. Ceramic pads are typically the "cleanest" but usually don't stop the best. A high compression carbon metallic molded pad like Performance Friction or DiscItalia IMO offers the best compromise and their braking performance for the street is outstanding.

I have been very satisfied with Akebono ceramic pads - as Waz said, perhaps not the ultimate in stopping performance, but no dust, and quite adequate stopping power for street use. I have not experienced fade, but (experimental) panic stops from triple-digits does leave a bit to be desired.
