Brake pedal jerking/pulsating @ low speeds
My 1998 VDP has been having minor braking issues recently. I first had this problem before I changed the front pads. At slow speeds<10 mph, occasionally, the brake pedal will jerk back slightly and it feels like the master cylinder or the caliper pistons are preventing the pedal from being pushed down. I changed the front pads and the problem went away. Then it came back. Then I changed the rear pads and the problem still persists. It will, every once in a while, flash a 'traction control failure', and 'Stability control failure' warning on the speedo. Could this be a simple abs sensor issue?

Hi Kevin,
Just had a drop link replaced which felt like a warped disc when braking. The ABS sensor was also replaced on the same wheel! The fault might be showing because the sensor is showing poor contact on that wheel which could be caused by a wheel bearing or other fault allowing the wheel some lateral movement. Or it could just be a faulty sensor! No guarantees - only an opinion!

Shocks
Not sure if you solved this.
I went through a similar issue with a front drive Audi, only to find two issues causing my vibration - one buckled alloy (also replaced after hitting a pothole, turns out the replacement fell off a truck) and all four shocks/struts had just 12% life on them.
Its possible your replacement wheels are defective and possible one of your shocks for hurt when hitting the pothole.
You never mentioned how your first issue of the kickback on the brake pedal was resolved. These forums are useless if guys don't come back and let everyone know what caused the problem. This helps others who might encounter a similar problem in the future.
