Cool Broken left mirror

My XJR was parked on the street and I came out to go to work this morning and some richard cranium managed to hit and break my left mirror housing (no note left of course). It snapped right where it pivots to fold in (manually).
Questions:
Is this part of the mirror assembly repairable, or do I need to replace the whole assembly?
If it is repairable, does anyone have an exploded view of it?
If I go for a used one do any of you have one available for sale?
Specifics: Heated, Power, Memory, Color: MDX (Platinum). The actual mirror didn't break, just the part where it rotates to fold in.

Thanks in advance for the help guys!

I'd suggest a replacement as they're cast alloy and as strong as peanut toffee.

might have an MDX cover in the spares shed...

It's one torx bolt behind the black plastic cover at the front base of the widow frame inside, it's possible to remove the cover with a bit of wiggling then also wiggle the wiring harness up to the clip and unplug.
I have the window down and hold the mirror while unbolting to save a dent.
Power and heated is standard as far as I know, only chromatic dimming and powerfold as options, I think.
Hope this helps!

Thanks very much Sean. Do I need to remove the door card to be able to remove the window frame cover?

by the book yes, with some plastic trim tools you don't.

same thing happened to me last fall. Bought a salvage mirror locally for $50. I'm replacing it by the end of the week hopefully. Same thing...everything with the mirror and body was fine...just the part where it folds was snapped. I have about two feet of gorilla tape holding it on for now.

...my assailant left a note though. Old neighbor so I saved them the $900 insurance bill and went cheap.

Honesty is the best policy, but you don't get much of that around these parts!

Spotted a x300 VP in the salvage yard today. It's a 96, mine a 95. I'm sure they are the same. I have one question. Do all x300 xj6's have heated mirrors. Mine is not a VP. Not sure that it does. Is always garaged so I've never had the need for them to be. The wiring is my concern. Don't know what I think of the chrome on the 96. My car suffered the same damage as yours. Anyone know? Epoxied it back together six months ago and still good. I just don't like rigging it. Thanks

Don't know about the '95 or '96s. Probably your owners manual will tell you about your car at least. Good luck!

Basically, any X300/X308 mirror from 1995 to 2003 will fit any X308 but there's a number of variations in specification to be considered:

1. powerfold or non-powerfold
2. heated or non-heated
3. auto dim
4. flat or curved mirror glass

The colour of the backcover is not a problem as these are secured with round spring clips on plastic pegs and can be popped off and switched over.
