Buy: seats, radio out - is it a big issue?
2003 jaguar xj8 71000 Looking to buy and told mechanically fine but that "few" electronic issues in that the radio and both of the power seats do not work. Could this be a sign of bigger electronic issues? Do the modules under the seats protect the main computer, like the buck stops here kind of thing....or is 3 of these being out a bad sign that the computer itself would be going out? thanks

Welcome ceng, first off, go to this link and review items to check when purchasing one of these cars....https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...k-links-20090/
Then you can bookmark this site... JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource ...you can look up almost everything for your vehicle to include the wiring shematic. Lots of great info in one place.
This is a link from that site with the electrical schematic... http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Auto.../jagxj1998.pdf
First thing to do is check the fuses and battery condition (to include the cables, any corrosion will require a new cable, you can't get the corrosion out). Battery condition is very important on these cars, we can cover this later.
Here's a shot from that schematic, this should give you some direction on fixing the issues, they really shouldn't be too hard to fix barring the PO (previous owners) trying to do backyard repairs...we're here to assist....
