Cam/valve cover baffle 4.0 v8
Recently did upper chain tensioner replacement and found the baffle inside the valve cover loose.
I found some industrial 2 part epoxy mix that i used to bond it to the valve cover. It appears as it was originally epoxied in the cover from the factory. That worked fine but what have others used to replace the pourus plastic baffle material located in the front part of the valve cover between cover and baffle plate.
The ones in there are crumbling off particles of debris. I decided to leave out temporarily until I can find something to replace them with.
What have others used to replace this material? Reminds me of the nylon material used in gm products air cleaners as a oil vapor filter.
By the way the hole for the vent was plugged up, so I drilled it out to allow flow as intended. This was a note to check in one of the posts on tensioner replacement.
