Can my key fob be resuscitated?
Hi to all. I hope this isn't a duplicate query -- I couldn't find a matching one using the search function.
One of my two key fobs no longer works to open the doors and trunk on my '01 XJR. I've replaced the battery but no luck.
Is there a way to re-pair a key fob with the car it was sold with? Or has my fob gone the way of the dodo?
If so, could anyone please suggest a third-party fob that could be trained to work with my XJR?
Thanks in advance to all who respond. If there's a solution, I know I'll find it here!

First make sure the batteries are inserted in the correct direction. You can see the direction on the video below. Follow the link for details on cleaning and restoring.

Give that a try. If it doesn't work get back to us and we can try reprogramming.

PS: this video was tremendously helpful. Many thanks!

Try cleaning the PC board where the rubber pads touch it when you press. Also clean the rubber pads.
