Can someone from UK help me with some info
Sorry I'm not so sure if this is the right forum section for this question, but still:
It's been 2 months since I've got my XJ8 (X308). The car is in very good condition - I did a few repairs but for its years and mileage this Jag is impressively conserved.
The problem is that when I bough my Jag it came with service and technical papers, including the one for Schedule Maintenance done in only one place (Merritts Amersham) for the last 13 years, but except for the stamps from the Jaguar Dealer there is no other information.
As I understood from the original Service Record & Warranty Book, in which there are stamps of dealer starting from the period of initial purchase - 7/4/98 till 19/2/08, when the last maintenance check was completed. – това изречение няма смисъл – не става ясно какво си разбрал от оригиналната книжка
I've tried to contact the Jaguar dealer but they seem to have problems with their email server. I would go and ask personally but I'm living in Bulgaria, and the main office of this dealer is in UK, near London.
So my question is - is there someone living next to Amersham who could pass and ask about my car in Merrits Jaguar? This is the place where the car was bought initially and maintained for more than 10 years.
I would like to have some more information for the major repairs on the vehicle. I am most interested in the engine and the gearbox repairs - primary and secondary timing chain tensioners, water pump, suspension. I would be most grateful if someone could send me this information.
Here is the website of the Jaguar dealer - Merritts - New & Used Jaguar, Peugeot, Skoda, Hyundai & Lotus Cars
Please find below the vehicle’s specification:
Jaguar XJ8 (x308) - 3.2V8 Sport
Initial british Reg. No: R444 RES
VIN: SAJJJALG3CR836740
Engine Number: AC9802100855
The car’s mileage right now is 156000 miles so I strongly believe that most of the important repairs have already been done (as water pump, thermostat and tensioners).
Thanks in advance and I promise to make it up to whom helps me as next year I'll be visiting UK.
