Sorry no ones responded sooner....but to answer the initial question...no, almost assuredly. Now, that doesn't mean no ones thought of it, but folks like to share here (or brag...take your choice) and I haven't ever seen it in 8 yrs here. The hard part is the integration that exists vs what you want to accomplish.

It's possible... You could write an app with a interface/control layout for a radio/music, and climate control buttons... Then possibly connect your ipad to an Arduino, or something with a bunch of GPIO connections, chop up the old climate faceplate, and somehow use those pins to "push" or trigger the buttons... Write hardware-level control code for the Arduino... Interface code between the Arduino and Ipad (at this point a RasPi with touchscreen support or something more powerful may make more sense to ditch the iPad-Arduino combo)... Maybe some way to read feedback from the climate control system (what temperature is it set to?? fan speed? what things are on, LED status?)... And then some way to physically mount the display in place of the original controls. Not an insignificant amount of work... You could also try to reverse-engineer the communication protocols in the unit itself, to avoid the GPIO bodging, but that could be even more time spent.
All this to realize that Tesla was wrong, and dedicated physical buttons beat nested non-tactile touchscreen menus for automotive controls. Also, it'd look out of place, unless the display was curved to match the ski slope.
It's a fun thought experiment though
