Your answer to #7 is a big clue. What happens when you go full throttle and try to pull to redline? Is it any different in sport mode?

I agree with Rob on his analysis, but mostly his suggestion to answer the seven questions. A faulty pump would not normally have such a defined drop off, I would think.

I will have to check that out when I get the car back, it is currently at the body shop...

There is a fuel pressure test tap on the injector fuel rail, so a test gauge with a short extension hose will allow you to tape the gauge to the outside of the windscreen and monitor the pressure while you exceed the NH statewide speed limit!
What makes you think I exceed the NH speed limit? I could be at the track when this happens...

OK, I got the car back.... Did 120 and no problems...
Yesterday I went on a one hour drive and after about 45 minutes of driving
@ speed limit 65MPH, the car just did the same thing, died, I slowed down to the break down lane in neutral when the car slowed down to about 40 MPH I started it, put it in drive and nothing tranny did not engage, I put it back in neutral, when it slowed down to about to 20 MPH, I put it in drive, the tranny engaged and I was off and running again... On my way back home, it did the same thing after about 45 minutes of driving... No dash lights just died...

I am convinced you are running out of gas. Maybe putting a fuel pressure guage on the shraeder valve with a long tube and tape it to the windshield to check fuel pressure when the 'starvation' occurs.

A guess: you need to change the fuel filter. Used to see these fuel shutdowns on Rochester four barrels with their very small fuel filters.

He's already had that suggestion, but he would rather get out push the accelerator! Of course, while the engine is flaming out, it is running lean, so soon there will be more to the problem.

I know; nearly as serious as the Litwak who is engineering his own car instead of studying or asking for advise before he destroys it . . .

Road racer, please don't take offense at some productive poking! (I sense you may be a little thin skinned from a certain S button thread). We are just trying to keep you out of trouble.

I must admit that when I was young and had not yet learned some valuable lessons, I would do the same kinds of things. If I heard some noise that I could not identify, I would just run the crap out of the car until it got worse, then I could find it! Not so much anymore

Older, maybe not wiser... but certainly more experienced.

Check your fuel pressure before you burn some valves or the head gaskets!

I still think the throttle has a problem.
Please determine if the SERVICE ACTION 303-S514am has been performed.

Call a local dealer with the VIN and ask if this is in the list of recalls/actions still open on your car.

No offense taken, just trying to figure out my problem, I will have my fuel filter changed and call the dealer to see if the 303-s514 has been performed. I really appreciate all the help and input from everyone, even if I am getting my chain pulled...

AGAIN, CHECK THE PRESSURE!, not change the filter. And, by the way, motorcarman's advice is always worth following.

Okay, I will do that first... What should the fuel pressure be reading at idle?

About 38 psi. What you care about is what it does at speed. Extend the test gauge hose so you can tape the gauge to the outside of the windshield, then go haul ***. The pressure should remain at about 40 psi over manifold absolute pressure.

Given his experience, I suspect motorcarman's guess is probably spot on, but the way you drive the car, you need to be sure your fuel pressure is keeping up anyway. You do not want to lean out a boosted engine!

Found the problem....... It was the alternator! The alternator was bad and giving me many different dash warnings. Lights were going bright and dim. So I changed the alternator and it fixed all the dash warning problems. But what was more interesting is that it also fixed my car shutting down after going 100mph... I had the car at 120 for an extended period of time and no shut down, drove for two hours and no shut down. I guess it was the alternator pushing out so much power at high speeds that the engine and tranny shut down... Very finicky when it comes to anything electrical....
