Carpet under driver seat wet

Hi guys,
I have noticed when it rains heavy, I have a soaked carpet under the left rear section of my drivers seat.
I can not see water anywhere else. This seams to blow the fuse to the driver window which I then have to pull the fuse and reset almost every time I get in the car.
My mechanic checked for any openings/holes under the car and saw nothing. The panel on the drivers door is loose on the bottom ( clips must have broken off). Could this be the problem, or has anyone else had a similar problem? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, J. Hamel

Check your window seals and door rubbers on that side of the car. F/R.
A loose interior panel will not be the problem, UNLESS it is preventing the door from closing tight.
As a matter of course, check that the window is in fact fully shut, 1mm can let in an awful lot of water if the rain is hard from that direction.

I had a Chevy truck many years ago that had a Pinhole in the Rain Gutter above the Passenger Door. It was under the plastic trim piece on the roof. It was literally 1/64 of an inch, if that. But, that little hole allowed about 1/2 inch of water to be left on the passenger floor of my truck each time it rained.
I spent about an hour with a hose and the roof liner off to find this leak and follow it back to it's source. A small spot of silicone, and it was fixed. It was a hole left during the original build (Weld / Sealer) of the truck that for some reason opened up later in it's life. I'm assuming the paint finally cracked away or something.
PS: The water traveled into the roof, down along the windshield, then to the floor. I was unable to find any water anywhere else either, until I pulled the headliner.

New to the forum and to a 98 XK8 coupe. Last fall I noticed the carpet under the drivers seat and towards the back seat (drivers side) soaked, in what appeared to be after rainy days. Dealer, and I, checked with a hose all over drivers side: checked windows, rubbers, top to bottom - nothing. Just pulled the car out of winter storage a few weeks ago - dry. After a few rain falls, carpet wet again.
Any other suggestions or others with XK8 having this issue??
Cheers
