Default CD autochanger

Is it possible to fit anything other than the OE CD changer to a vehicle that hasn't got one?

All help is much appreciated.

I think the Headunit will only recognize the Jaguar changer connected with the Alpine AI-Net cable. I think there is some sort of digital signal it gets to verify it is the stock CD changer is there. That is why the Ai-Net to auxillary RCA's don't just plug in and work.

The head communicates with the CD changer via AiNet, which is a standard, but they use a Jag proprietary language - so the Jag head unit will only recognize a Jag CD changer, period.
