Center shaft bearing causing a high pitched noise

Hi all, I have been dealing with a problem for just about 2 months now regarding the center shaft bearing of my 98 VDP's. What it does is while my jag is in motion, it creates a loud high pitched noise. It gets louder when you go faster. I cannot determine if I lose the noise at high speeds due to road noise. Can anyone please recommend a solution to fixing this noise whithout having to buy a brand new $1600 center shaft. I was able to lube the bearing a bit which stopped the noise for a few days but after that, it just started up again. Any help is greatly appreciated.
