Default Ceramic Engine Treatment

I did a little searching but couldn't find anything on the forums about ceramic engine treatment. To be specific, Certech Gels, is an additive that you put in woth your motor oil and it is suppose to re-harden/repair/lubricate worn surfaces, bearings, piston aleeves etc. and have your motor working like new if not better. It makes a lot of claims but so far have found nothing to prove them wrong. In the case with the x308 cars with nikasil sleeves that wear and allow blow-by to happen this is suppose to cure the motors of that problem without javinv to tear it apart and do an expensive rebuild or put a new motor in altogether. Has anyone on the forums had any experience with ceramic engine treatmenta or certech gels? Cost about $100 from motorheads garage and compared to more than just a few thousand to rebuild/replace the motor this seems like the obvious answer.

I have yet to find out if my motor has worn sleeves or blow by. I will be doing a compression test and a leakdown test to find out but so far everything is normal. Even if my motor is fine I might buy some and try it out on the motor to see if the gel lives up to its claims

Nikasil is harder and more wear resistant than cast iron or steel. The problem with nikasil was that in the early days of the engines high sulfer fuel eroded the lining, but no longer exists. If your engine has good compression and low blowby, it is actually superior. When you do a compression test, don't forget to pull the fuel pump solenoids to avoid wash down effect.
I would not risk damage to my engine by adding some additive without knowing a lot more about it. But that is just my opinion.

Like most additives it's ineffective and unnecessary. There are no miracles in a can that can fix what's not broken.
