Climate Control Sensor?
You'll have to forgive my ignorance. I've been a bit of a lurker, but finally decided to join.
I've got an '00 XJR that has had the plastic domes (a white inside a black) from the center of the dash disappear. I assume these serve to protect the thermometer for the auto climate control?
Does anybody know the name of these covers and what I'd want to search for to replace them?

From the handbook it's a solar sensor, second hand parts breaker may be able to help for just the lens, or Jaguar dealer, although I suspect Jaguar would want to replace the sensor...The climate control sensor is located next to the headlamp adjustment button, a little grill, this is referring to UK cars, I'm not certain you have a headlamp adjuster button on the USA cars.

I looked up the climate control part numbers in Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog (JEPC).
Here is a JPEC screen shot:
Look at #6 part description is Insert
Also found this page in JTIS 21 CD on Solar Sensor located on top of dashboard/
Here is the screen shot of it:
You might do a parts search on the internet using the part numbers shown in the screen shot of the JEPC page. It might give more information and views of these parts.
