Default Cold and 99 XJR

Hi Guus and dolly's of course,
Best whishes for 2014

Samen as me my XJR does not. like the cold winters. When cold it runs badly and sometimes even goes to emerencyrun only. Then after schutting down and restarting it runs, but again poor. This until its warmed up enough.
Could that be the coils after 200000km? Or ...
Excuses for my poor English.... From the Netherlands

Well. If engine works poorly then it's a spark of fueling problem.
Actually if it is a spark problem - the engine will not restart or will continue to run poorly, since the plugs will became wet.
Then it may be a fueling problem. First things to check are:
-fuel. It may contain water, which restricts a fuel flow
-fuel pressure. Fuel pump may be bad.
-coolant temp. sensor, since it is used to calculate a needed amount of fuel
-MAF sensor and IAT sensor.
-throttle body - if it is dirty it may be sticking in a cold weather
-air leaks, which may disappear on a warm engine.
