Default COMPRESSION

I have a 2003 xj8. Went to start, and started then died, and I tryed to start again with no luck. i had it towed to my teck, and had fowled the plugs. they fixed that ,and tryed to start with no luck. checked the compression and was none. filled the cyl with oil and let set over night. started up this morning and seems to be fine other than the mess. this is the second time this has happend, the last time was a year ago, and cant seem to find out what the cause is. Any Ideas????
thanks,
Norm

ON MY OTHER BOOK I WROTE ON THIS ISSUE OF COLD STARTS, CLEANE THROTTLE BODY, PART LAOD BREATHER AND FLUSH INJECTION AND INDUCTION SYSTEM. POOR SPRAY PATTERNS AND DEPOSITS ON VALVES CAUSE MOST START START FUEL FOULING. AND THE NO COMPRESSION IS FROM A LOSS OF OIL (FUEL WASHED OFF) AND LOW TENSION RINGSNEED THIS OIL FILM TO HAVE COMPRESSION
