Constant Code P0341 Cam sensor bank 1

Hello everyone,
I have a 2000 Vanden Plas which I bought from a friend. He purchased it from a garage where they diagnosed the engine was running low compression on 6 cylinders. I have gotten the car to run quite well. It had been sitting for a number of years, and driven very lightly (42,000 miles). The issue i'm having is the code p0341 for camshaft position sensor bank 1. I have replaced the cam sensor, I have brought the car to a Jaguar specialist who has confirmed the engine is in time, the timing chain tensioners have been updated to the metal ones. I have put new spark plugs, coils, rebuilt the throttle body and changed thermostat. I am feeling a slight "rumble" at around 50 mph. it feels like a sudden jerking/bucking. The reduced performance message comes on the dash at times, no change in the performance though.
Can this cam sensor code be a bad ECM? I cannot find anything else it could be? It is the only code that comes up. The engine runs fine, even with the lower compression. I have not tried to replace the fuel injectors yet but that's next in line. Also thinking the transmission fluid may need to be changed due to the age. We have a Lincoln Town Car that had a similar rumbling feeling when shifting into overdrive and we changed the fluid, the rumble went away
thanks in advance!
Dan

Years ago I had another shop that could not figure out the same issue you are having.
They replaced the sensor, checked the reluctor on the bank 1 intake cam and even ran new wires to parallel the exiting wires ECM to the Bank 1 cam sensor. (they did not have WDS or IDS)
I got the car and verified that the wire harness was OK.
I have several 'salvage' cars here on my property (my own 'junkyard') so I got a replacement ECM from a similar car and matched the VCATS.
Performed a IMMOBILIZATION SETUP and the DTC was cleared. (NO MORE ISSUES)
Yes the ECM can fault internally. (hard fault with damaged circuit or semiconductor)
Replacing the ECM requires an IMMOBILIZATION SETUP with Jaguar diagnostic software.(ECM is NOT 'plug&play')
If the circuits from ECM to SENSOR are OK, I would condemn the ECM.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Could a bad VVT Solenoid throw the same code? P0341? I have replaced the Cam sensor at rear of engine but have not replaced the VVT Solenoid.
I am going to verify all wires coming and going to the ECM from the cam sensor in question. If it all checks out good I will need to find someone who can program a Jag ECM for me.
