Follow the link below to SNG Barratt website. One of the forum sponsors and download the catalog for the XJ8's. You will find hose layouts and part numbers for the cooling system.

Maybe I'm not explaining correctly. The leak is right under the upper reservoir, where you put additives in. I need a diagram for the part name/number.

That'll be the Expansion Tank a.k.a Engine Coolant Reservoir (see item 1):

Strictly speaking, the P/N required depends on VIN:

1. to VIN F52090 : MNC4400AB
2. from VIN F52091 : MNC4400AC

However, it appears the earlier P/N MNC4400AB has been superseded and the later MNC4400AC is suitable for all the range.

Unless the leak you are experiencing is from the bottom of the coolant tank, then you ar probably looking at what is called the Octopus Hose. Below is a link with a lot of good information and links to a how to do it thread.

The leak is definitely coming from the coolant level control sensor. I need to now figure out how to remove and install a new one. I had the octopus hose replaced last year.

The tank removal is a pretty straight forward operation. It is easiest if you make sure you have the special tool for releasing the hose connectors.

Is there suppose to be an oring that goes on the coolant/fluid level sensor? Put the new one on and once car warmed up it started leaking again.

The coolant level sensor is inserted into a formed tube in the tank. The sensor should be able to be removed and no fluid will leak out. There is no seal necessary because there is no fluid present.
Sounds like the tank is cracked.

Thanks to all that have replied. I bought the coolant level sensor only to find still having the same problem. Temp fix silicone the sensor until I get the expansion tank delivered in a couple of days.
My husband keeps telling me to get a new car. I keep telling him I don't have a car payment and the repairs don't cost as mush as a new car. Although I don't have all the bells and whistles in a new car. This on gets me around. He should be happy hoe much money I'm saving, lol.
Thanks again all,
JoAnn
