Hoping someone can help with some ideas....on where to go next, what to look for:
I bought my 1999 Xj8 with 165K miles a couple of weeks ago. noticed a coolant leak so based on post/threads on this forum went in to replace the thermostat housing (with Al aftermarket unit) and distributor hose. seemed ok for a while then leaks again, but only when cold - i can see a slight puddlle of coolant around the thermostat housing - first issue.
Had the car running on saturday, apart from the leak from sitting overnight ran fine, no errors or warnings.
this morning jumped in to drive to work - car will not start. cranks but does not start.
is it likely the fuel pump or ignition components can fail abruptly without warning,
HELP!!
thanks in advance.

thanks for the response.
tensioners were replaced approx 50k previous.
in attempt to solve cylinder wash, removed plugs, dripped a little oil into each cylinder, new plugs. still no start. does not seem to even try to fire....
have fuel pressure, havent checked for spark yet. is there a quick/easy way to check for spark?
code reader p1111 - all systems checked, no other codes.
can anyone confirm if the 99 xj8 has a separate ignition module to the ecm?
does this lead anyone to say ECM?
again appreciate any help/advice/input here
many thanks
Sunil
