The correct x308 radio code not working
I have the confirmed correct radio code for my 2003 x 308 XJR and it won't unlock the radio,
Anyone know how to over ride the code in this style of radio ?
Anyone know of a good radio repair company that I can send it to ? I'm just outside of Boston Ma USA.
any help or recommendations greatly appreciated !

If you replaced the radio with a used one, it may have come from a car that did not have the power amplifier. The same radio worked in both type of installations but there is a very small switch on the bottom that will need to be switched to the correct position to work in your car. I don't exactly recall what it says but if you look closely you will find it and see what two positions are. I'd assume you have the Alpine power amp in your car....

additional info on radio code problem
The Jag dealer was able to verify the code with my VIN,,,,,, I also found the card that contained the code and the radio serial number with same code the dealer gave to me............... still won't unlock the radio.
Also did a hard rest by removing the battery cable........still won't unlock the radio.
The battery is new and fully charged
I also suspect that this has a European radio as intermittently it would go from US AM/FM to European frequencies...the zero switch in the set up menu could be used to switch back to "US Market" from European market.
My troubles began when I disconnected the battery to work on some other things and the radio wanted the code after I reconnected
After 3 tries I get the dreaded "please wait" instead of the "welcome" screen . This is why I was hoping to find someone who knows any tricks to bypass this code problem
Meanwhile thanks to all here who replied

The radio with the problem is definitely the original radio, I also spotted the little switch you mentioned. Thanks for telling me what it does.
I installed my back up radio and it works fine except there is no AM working. The back up radio did not ask for a code when I installed it.
The car is mint with 45k miles and I loved the radio when it was working......

This is what I found on the internet, written by someone, but do not know if it works:
"There is a workaround which was good for the X-Type and earlier X300. It's worth trying on your X308:
1. enter any code 3 times so that the display shows "PLEASE WAIT"
2. simultaneously press ">>" "PTY" "A.MEM" and after 2 or 3 seconds the radio should turn ON"
Otherwise, the coded and codeless radio numbers are as follows:
With Code - Alpine No. AJ9800R, Jaguar LNC4100AA
No Code - Alpine No. AJ9800A, Jaguar LNC4100BA

The adventure continues.....................
My backup radio had no am/FM radio.. I took off the front panel and sprayed the little Am/FM switch with CRC contact cleaner and and PRESTO ! now radio is working fine., I also purchased another "back up radio on Ebay....no luck .... everything worked ...panel , switching from modes but NO audio ... Radio got warm/hot on the back near the antennae plug . I put my working radio back in and all is well.. Boy I'm having one hell of time with these radio PITA problems.
I sure would like to unlock my original radio with what is confirmed to be the correct 4 digit code
