SO I started getting 5 beep warnings which apparently meant the airbag warning bulb was blown. Before these beep warnings the airbag light would light then go off when starting the car. After the beeps started the airbag light would not light up.

Opened the instrument cluster and replaced a lot of bulbs. Now the dash lights up and then all warning lights go out except for the airbag which is now on constantly. No audible beeps.....

So I think I need a tool to diagnose the airbag SRS system?

Anyone recommend a tool that is known to actually work on 2000 XJ8?

You can contact these folks, as they say, to check this for the 2000....though it says 2005-14. But it says it does SRS. I was looking at getting this one also.
