Default Could knock sensor cause gearbox fault?

My 00 VDP with 93k miles just kicked on the "gearbox fault" light yesterday. I was at a stop light, then hit the accelerator to take off...it revved, then jumped into gear and popped the "gearbox fault". No previous symptoms. No leaks and shifts smoothly. The codes I got were P1111 and P0332 knock sensor (left bank circuit low input). Could the knock sensor cause the gearbox fault? Thanks!

I have po328, high voltage on right bank1 ... it has been an intermitten fault but recently it stayed on for 10 minutes continuously. it usually goes away.......... then while driving at 60 kmph car went into gearbox fault, engine safe mode max 100 rpm, traction control fail, stability control fail. I crawled home at 1000 rpm.
car restarted up just fine after being off 5 minutes. next drove ok too.
I think... ( I am replacing that sensor now) the knock sensor confused the ecu to much and ecu shut the engine into safe mode and gearbox got freaked out by it. And all those other systems shut down too.

hopefully this change cures the problem. Remember the knock sensor effects engine timing which put weird demands on the gearbox and fuel economy etc.
I'm replacing mine.
My car is an x308 for anyone reading.
regards
Peter

Or that the knock sensor error code has been triggered by a misfire, bad plugs, dirty throttle body etc.

I just changed my tranny; had P07355 (5th gear bad ration) and now hoping it wasn't just the knock sensors :-O

did get alert on those when engine oil was low, but after the gearbox fault appeared. Car has 148k, so thought it makes sense tranny is bad.

found a used one with 88k miles, paid $500. hope it works.
