i was in nyc for st patricks day parade with the family and came accross an interesting find. this was a garage on 76th st by 5th ave... we were leaving the car when i saw these two jewels shining under a few layers of dust tucked away in a corner. always makes you think what the story is behind these machines.... first i saw this old rolls... then came upon the other when i went to investigate.

NYC beats the heck out of cars, note the water drain pipe running straight over the front-end of the old-classic! Those pipes ALWAYS eventually leak. Got a pipe like that just along the edge of my NYC parking spot too, it makes sure that I park my 203" VDP exactly perfectly within the 205"-long spot every time... Oh the joys of driving a nice car in New York...

i can imagine. every time i come in , i pass that car club down on hudson street with the communal supercar collection. i sometimes see people getting in to drive and wonder how fun it can be driving a 60's e-type stoplight-to stoplight! i hope they are able to get out of town and stretch those legs!!

i was thinking about your post here.. and it made me think (which you will most likely concur) about those times driving the VDP down an avenue on a summer night with the sunroof open , looking over the bonnet with the leaper in front, and the light reflections dancing in the shiny paint . i guess thats what makes one put up with the downsides!!
