Default Couple of Small Issue Dying to Solve

Have two issues that are driving me bonkers on my 2000 XJR.

1. All of my door switches do not illuminate so I assume that there is a fuse or a relay that control them all would be odd that they all died.

2. And this is more annoying. My navigation works intermittently some days it's good other days it does not. So I'm guessing there is a relay or something that is perhaps faulty.

Seeing if anyone has had any of these same issues and has a solution.

I've done a battery electrical reset recently to make my driver's side window work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

on the door lights, yes probably a fuse, although I've had no direct experience with the issue. perhaps it is in one of the fuse boxes on the front of the rear seat foot area, there is a fuse box on both sides of the back seat as well as the trunk and engine compartment. The navigation issue could be a fuse issue or it could be something wrong with the connection between the nav system screen and the nav cd and control box in the trunk.

Does your radio work and not the nav function? or is your entire in-dash radio unit acting up?

Thanks for the reply, as far as the nav issue goes yes it is just an issue with the Nav the rest of the radio and everything will function 100% when this issue is occuring. Are loose connections and connection issues in general a big issue with these cars?? As in any time I'm having an issue first thing to do is to get some contact cleaner and clean all connections and make sure they are all tight and strong.

yes the electrics are very tricky on this car, contact cleaner is a good place to start. however, a slightly low battery can cause many random electrical problems, do you know how old your battery is?

Your nav problem may be the disk/CD player.
Certainly worth taking the disk out and cleaning it.

Battery is new, installed when I purchased a week ago I will try and pull the disc out I have tried when I'm having the issue and it will not eject I should try when it is working, the not ejecting thing is making me think it is a power issue, why I was looking to a relay or fuse, but like you said cant hurt to clean the disc.

Take off the door panel where the red light isn't funcioning.

On my XJ Sport I had one that wasn't working, and it just
turned out to be that some mechanic/previous owner had
failed to plug it in after taking out the door panel. I only
discovered this after checking the fuses controlling door
electics and the bulbs, at the time.
