Cruise control issue(s)

Cruise control issue(s)
1998 XJ8 VP
I know this has been addressed in countless threads, but I can’t seem to find an answer.
The cruise control is cutting out/going into engine fail safe mode.
I have replaced the brake switch.
I have replaced the throttle body unit.
I have replaced the solenoid pack, along with checking all connections and hoses for leaks-there doesn’t seem to be any bad hoses or little connectors.
I hear what SEEMS to be a “hissing” in the area of the solenoids pack…is that “normal”?
The car will stay in cruise control mode with no issues at 20-25 MPH….any speed higher, and it cuts off/fail safe mode.
I see some vac lines that go into a part # LN 1515AA- could this part be defective?
ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated, as I plan on taking a 1K round trip this coming Thursday…cruise control or not…but preferably WITH!
MANY THANKS in advance.

I did find this...
All the cruise functions are done through the ECM (Engine Control Module). We can check part of the circuit with a voltmeter but the usual cause is the cassette module behind the steering wheel. This is the spiral cable that the cruise harness goes through. The harness usually will break or have high resistance making the cruise inoperative.

Thank you HH,
The Germans have a way with “pop” musics, don’t they!
The girl is smokin’ and yes, that trombone is great!
Would the little “cassette” behind the steering wheel be be behind the airbag (do I need to remove that) or behind that actual wheel, which I would need to remove the airbag anyway. Are you familiar?
Thank you again! - and for the JB as well…

That my friend is an area I am not familiar with. I had found that response on another site, but I would say its most likely in the column covering itself.
Yeah, she's easy to look at and they are a fun band. She didn't have any idea how to act in front of a camera a few years ago, but I guess someone finally told her to "let go" and out came the sexy.
