Current best XJR + IPhone Solution?
First time posting here or on any board for that matter so I apologize in advance for any breaches in etiquette.
I have an '04 XJR with just over 60k hard to very hard miles on it and have yet to have a single fault of any kind... love this machine! Thing is, I also have an Iphone 3g which is capable of all sorts of audio goodness and combining the two would make Jack a very happy boy, but try as I might I can't seem to find clear answers on the best way to do this for my model/year. All Jag will tell me is that they have a kit for $500 that adds an iphone connector but wont work with internet radio features, which is my primary goal.
All I really want is to be able to stream pandora from my Iphone over the car speakers with no loss in quality, phone/ui functionality would be great depending on the level of car surgery required but not really necessary.
Any help on the following questions would be great:
1 - Is there a way to get an aux input directly to the head unit or am I stuck with the cd-changer butcher method?
2 - Will I have to splice and solder or is there a plug that will do it less messily?
3 - The KCA 420-i seems like it might do the job but requires ai-net functionality rather than m-bus, how do I find out which I have?
4 - Is there any way the phone input in the center console could be used for this purpose?
5 - Is there a bluetooth solution that might simplify all of this without costing me $500?
And if that last one is possible, will the audio quality over bluetooth be worse than a direct connection?
Any advice is appreciated.

The factory phone wiring in the console is Mono only. If you only want to use it for phone then that will work great.
Because I wanted the flexibility, I did the Parrot System (Mki 9100) and sent the signal into the radio via the CD Input. (I tapped my wires in the harness behind the radio instead) If surgery is not an option get an FM transmitter. It's not a direct connection but it is stereo and works pretty well. Just tune your radio to the right station and crank it up.
Now I can plug in an Iphone, Ipod, USB Memory Card, plus use the auxillary jack for the Sirius Tuner and connect my phone via the bluetooth.
Way more than I needed but the price was right and it works perfectly.
