Default Cylinder wash --thanks!

I am a long time reader---recent member-seldome poster---I am a three cat owner.

I have had a no-start issue with my 99-XJ8 for the past week. I felt no need to post since there are so many excelent post with the same issue. This site is very informative and helpful.

I started the engine after about a 3 week rest- It ran for about 60 seconds then I forgot something and shut her off--well you know?--

I went through all of the basic diagnostic procedures( I am an old shade tree--ASE retired tech on mostly FORD vehicles--- To make a long story short-- the greatest help came from a link referal to another wonderful place( JAGREPAIR.COM)-- after using oil to resolve my cylinder wash issue -she now runs like DREAM-

Thanks to the JAG community-of -friends-- P.S. -is there an upgraded year of PCM that will interchange and possibly eliminate further WASH?

Very true, but then it would be a pretty boring forum, and there's always a new twist to an old problem. Thanks for the feedback.

I think a later throttle calibration file can be loaded to the ECU with Jaguar's IDS software, usually at the Dealers, or Jaguar specialist (usually ex Jaguar tech run)
This attempted to clear the bore wash, but the lesson is to never shut it off before warmup is complete!

Yeap... if you're about to go to buy some eggs from the local shop - use your feet, not your Jag... true story ending with cylinder wash, but then it's always good to remember -
