Dash rattle that's not the defrost vent
Hi
It's a slight rattle and I've found that if I push upwards on the lip of the dash top above the centre console the rattle will stop.
Other factors are it doesn't start until well into a journey say half an hour or more and I've already tightened the screws holding the instrument panel and clock/vent panel and tried leaving the wood veneer panels off to see if that was the cause.
So chaps have you any idea what it is or how to tighten the dash top down a bit more?

Hi All,
I've changed my mind about the location and now think it may be those defrost vents after all.
I can't modify the topic title so I thought I'd reply to this one first to ask if anyone knows how to remove these three vents from the top of the dash?
I had a tentative little prod and pry but couldn't work it out without putting loads of force on and not wanting to break it I stopped!
My plan is to cut down a bicycle inner tube, super glue that around the contacting edges (possibly double thickness) and then replace it to stop the rattle.
Any experience or info greatly welcomed.
The online manuals that are easily available don't seem to cover it either which is a pain!
Thanks,
Joe

Hi All,
So after a summer where life got in the way I'm back in the Jag and it feels great. But that damn rattle is still there. I tried putting some thin rubber cycle inner tube around the defrost vents to pack it out but the rattle remains.
To stop the rattle if I push up on the lip of the dash top above the centre vents (as if you were trying to lift the dash top) the rattle goes.
So any ideas on how to stop this?
Cheers,
Joe
