Hi Alan,
The VIN consists of 17 characters. The last 6 numbers, in your case, F44616, is the serial Number and usually quoted when trying to obtain spares.
The first 11 characters tell you where the car was made, which model it is, which hand drive it is, auto or manual, size of engine.
S=Made in Coventry, AJ=Made by Jaguar, A= Rest Of World Market, Not US market, C= Auto, RHD, 13= Standard wheel base, The 8th digit tells you about the emissions( Yours seems to be missing) 1= Check digit, not important, 2= model year, Yours is 2002, K= 3.2 Ltr AJ27 Motor, F44616=Serial No (Last 6 Characters)
I translated mine from a website that was on a laptop that has died, but I had written mine down and translated it. I think apart from the missing Character I have managed a translation. As I said the really important characters, from a maintenance point of view, are the last 6.
Hope this helps
Bill.

It should tell you on the sticker on the drivers door. Should give the trim, interior colour, exterior paint colour. I don't have a photo but for example mine says "Paint code: CGG" and all the specs should be like that.
