Default A different kind of power for an XJ8/XJR.....

Guys

I thought you might want to see something maybe a little different than most XJ8/XJR powerplants. I've posted some pics of my latest project- have a look:

Thanks

how did you match up the engine control module from the donor to the Jag? also the gearbox control module? I'm impressed that you got it to work, I'd have thought there would be all sorts of codes getting thrown!

Default LS1 Conversion for XJ8

The new eng/trans has its own computer and then it and other sensors on the engine provide inputs back to the car. The car itself operates on it's own, and the eng/trans are running as if they are still in the Camaro. We play around a bit with sensors and so on, and look carefully at the wiring diagrams to see who needs what as far as signals, etc.

Like I posted before, there is still some wiring to do, and some little glitches to resolve, but the concept seems to work fine. Just getting into charging up the AC now and we'll see how that goes....

If you want something different, this is a way to go. You'll have XJR (and better) performance without the headaches and expensive maintenance issues. And that performance is with a stock 5.7LS1. A stock LS2 (6.0L, as used in the GTO, and Corvette) puts out a solid 400hp straight from the factory. A little tweaking can easily get that up to 475....

If you want more info, send me a private message....

I think another member on this forum is in the process of converting a 3.2L XJ8 into a chevy powered car.

Does the engine feel as refined as the Jag engine? If someone who owns a XJR were to drive your car, would they be able to tell the difference? How does it sound inside and outside the car?
