Differential ratio change on XJR 2000
Hello everyone!
im new here but read a lot of threads here before creating a account. I guess I had read all the stuff about diff changes on the XJR V8 version with the MB gear box.
So I know there is one way to deal with the TCM error when changing to a other rear end ratio (not tried yet) the thing with the gear changing sequence tu interrupt the test procedure of the TCM module.
My question is now, is there any other way to get the thing running without having the error’s on the TCM? I read there where some workshops who programmed the TCM module but all the posts are - let’s say - 10 years old.. I’m looking for a solution because my original diff broke down and I have a good running 3.2 V8 unit here.
Looking forward to hear from you guys!

As an alternative to reprogramming the TCM, you can build a module to modify the ABS wheel speed readings to make it work, if you have some experience in working with electronics.

Spare TCU you can buy for 50-100 euros and it can be taken from any car with your gear ratio.
I do not believe gear rtio change is evailble anymore for our EGS51. When it was made for my spare TCU eight yers ago, cost was USD 2,700.
There was just one source which was able to do it and the TCU visisted in Ukraine ( via US company ) where the tech lived. He found the very old PC
somewhere to make it one more time but found files for 3.58 ratio just after a few days searching his backups.
There are nowdays other controllers to do it, but of course they are not plug and play solutions.
